Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can review the Gravatar service privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible publicly alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please ensure that the images do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may be able to download and extract any location data from images uploaded on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience. This prevents you from having to re-enter your details if you leave another comment. These cookies are stored for one year.

When you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Upon logging in, several cookies will be set to save your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while screen preference cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out, login cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal information and only indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles) from other websites. Embedded content from external websites behaves as though the visitor has visited those websites directly.

These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, both the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of placing them in a moderation queue.

For registered users (if any), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also access and edit this information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. However, this does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
